The Frieda Belinfante Class Act Program is Pacific Symphonys flagship youth. I spend my spare time attending band and symphony concerts, football games, competition marching shows, and musicals. I am happily married to my husband, Ivan, and have two sons, Isaiah and Micah, who are very talented musicians. A few months later, Thermal Imaging Center was created and it became my dream career! I also became a professional member of the Institute For The Advancement of Medical Thermography. In June 2019, I received official training in technical and clinical Thermography and became a Certified Thermography Technician. This desire led me to Thermography, a unique technology that detects physiological changes that can lead to chronic disease. After becoming a Certified Health Coach at IIN, I earned my Certification in Exercise Nutrition from Precision Nutrition, home of the world’s top nutrition coaches.Ī couple of years later, I decided to continue my education in prevention of disease and holistic alternatives to provide a roadmap for optimal health. My need for knowledge led me to the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN), where I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with top health and wellness experts. My experiences allowed me to see that most of the patients coming in for treatment were suffering from chronic conditions that were completely preventable. I previously worked in the medical industry where I gained experience in emergency department care, occupational health and primary care. Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-6:15 p.m.My passion is helping people improve their lives using holistic approaches.During our concerts in the Duke Family Performance Hall, ticket sales and/or donations at the door are given to various charitable organizations chosen by members of the orchestra or by our audience members. The DCSO performs a musical in collaboration with the Theatre Department once every four years, and, on occasion, participates in collaborative performances with the Choral Arts Society of Davidson, Chorale, and Opera Workshop.įor more than 10 years, the DCSO has continued its endeavor entitled Concerts for a Cause. Throughout the season, the ensemble features winners of our annual concerto competition, highlights guest artists, performs in the Music Department’s annual Holiday Gala, shares outdoor concerts with the Jazz Ensemble, performs during Family Weekend, and participates in an annual tour during the week prior to the beginning of the spring semester. The orchestra rehearses twice weekly and performs two to four full concerts per semester. This diverse body of students enhances their artistry in conjunction with their various perspectives and academic interests, creating an engaging and artistically stimulating rehearsal atmosphere.Īs an auditioned ensemble averaging 50 student musicians, the DCSO performs a wide range of repertoire from the Baroque to the present. Winners of The American Prize in Orchestral Performance 2018, college division, The Davidson College Symphony Orchestra (DCSO) is an ensemble for students of all backgrounds to rehearse and perform in a collaborative atmosphere while honing their technical skills and broadening their musical knowledge and experience.Īpproximately 95% of the ensemble is composed of non-music majors, with no special priority given to music majors.
